 Dances with Waves!

Hi and welcome. Today's project - a sea scene for the sunny day we have here, even warm down at the beach despite the north east coast breeze. Included is a quick way to create a watery background, too.

Materials:-
Cleverprints Products:- Stamps - Nautilus, Jellifish sets
Extras:-
  • Ink Pads - Black, Turquoise
  • Colouring Medium - I used Inktense Ink Blocks
  • Card - White; Turquoise - Light and Dark for matting layers
  • Brayer
  • Garden Twine
Instructions:-

1. Using black ink pad stamp Nautilus once on white card.

2. Stamp again onto a sticky note and trim - this is a mask to cover the stamped image.

3. Attach over stamped image.

4. Stamp Nautilus tentacles over masked image - and off the foot of the page -  to create sea grass.

5. Remove barrel from roller and secure garden twine at one barrel end with a knot. Wrap twine around the length and secure at other end, once again with a knot.

6. Roll brayer over turquoise ink; apply over stamped image - MASK IN PLACE!
Repeat as required.

7. Stamp sentiment over masked image and anywhere else to suit!

8. Layer onto backgrounds - the final blue layer is a shimmery spray background from stash.

9. Scribble chosen colours onto card, pick up with waterbrush and colour 'grass' areas.

10. Continue in this way to complete then flick over some watered down Inktense.

. . . And there we have it - the 'naughty nautilus' as my husband referred to it when he photographed it on my behalf.

As ever, happy crafting!
