Hi and welcome to Blog 12. Exciting times with the introduction of new stamp sets by Jane Royston - the 'Build Me Up' set comprising Bugs and Bits set, Floral Fragments set and Positive Affirmation set. The beauty of these stamps is that the images may be used to make large or small projects - the choice is entirely yours. Today's example is on the small side! 

Mini journal

Materials:-

• Build Me Up set - Bugs and Bits, Floral Fragments, Positive Affirmations

Extras:-

• Ink Pads - Black (Versafine Clair Nocturne) 
• Card for mini journal - 2 strips measuring 7 3/4in x 2 1/2in (these were offcuts from my scraps box); 
• Coloured squares - Ombre ink pads swiped over A6 card and cut into 2in x 2in squares, all edged with a black marker pen. 

• Alcohol Markers

Instructions:-

1. Two strips of card 2 1/2in x 7 3/4in, each scored at 2 1/2, 5, 7 1/2in leaving 1/4in at the end. Glue the end 1/4in of one strip and attach second to form a zig zag book as in photo. 

2. Bugs and Bits and Floral Fragments stamp sets.

3. Stamp a selection from both sets on coloured squares and extra 'bugs' to layer over. Colour with toning alcohol markers. 

4. Stamp a selection from Positive Affirmation stamp set.

5. Adhere one square to each 'page' of journal. Trim out selected affirmation, edge with black alcohol marker and attach, one to each square. 

 

6. Repeat on reverse side.
