Hello - many thanks for visiting. Another very late blog - shows on Hochanda when we were driving down to Bath - long way from Aberdeen - to celebrate a very special person's 90th birthday. Since then - the list of 'to do' projects has multiplied nay quadrupled!

Example 1

Gift Bag

Materials:-

Dies:-

·         Town

Card/Paper:-

·         Designer Card – Indian Summer

·         Matte Black

·         Kraft card

Miscellany:-

·         Double Sided Sticky Sheets

·         Perga Glitter

·         Twine

·         Gift Bag

·         Two identical, large empty rings from red-liner tape

Instructions:-

Gift Bag:-

1.       Cut Town image from chosen card or paper. Trim to suit.

2.       Apply double-sided sticky sheet to reverse. Pour over chosen glitter and gently rub in to adhere.

3.       Edge with black marker.

4.       Attach to chosen Designer Card and layer onto matte black card.

5.       Attach to gift bag.

6.       Decorate with twine.

Gift Tag:-

1.       Cut ‘Towns’ image as before and follow instructions at 1) and 2).

2.       Layer onto matte black card.

3.       Create small card blank from black card and attach designer paper to front. Adhere die-cut image onto this.

4.       Stamp sentiment onto scrap of Designer Card and add to foot of image.

5.       Decorate with twine and attach to gift bag handle.

Gift Box Front:-

*This box has been salvaged from Christmas cosmetics.

1.       Cut ‘Towns’ from chosen card/paper and follow Gift Bag instructions at 1) and 2).

2.       Attach to Theuva card, trim and edge with black marker.

3.       Decorate with twine.

Example 3, 4

Townscape

Hanging

1.       Wind twine around each ring, leaving enough to create a loop once complete. Set aside.

2.       Cut six ‘Town’ images from Kraft card. Apply double-side sticky to reverse of all and attach three onto white card (Theuva) and three onto blue pearlescent paper. (I recycled backing paper from Clarity stencils.) Apply glitter as before.

3.       Cut out house areas, building up night and day scene for front and back. Cut circle of Designer Card as background and layer over townscape.

4.       Apply Perga Glue around back rim of covered circles.

5.       When dry, glue back to back.

6.       Plait twine and attach around circumference using Perga Glue.

Double Canvas

Materials:-

Card/Paper:-

·         Designer Card

·         Matte Black

Miscellany:-

·         Perga Glitter

Instructions:-

1.       Cut ‘Towns’ from chosen paper. Trim.

2.       Apply double-sided sticky sheet to reverse and apply glitter.

3.       Attach Northern Lights Designer Card behind image. Trim.

4.        Layer onto black card and trim.

5.       Attach to 6ins x 6ins canvas, followed by 10ins x 10ins canvas.

Example 6

Copper Town

Materials:-

Dies:-

·         Town

·         Floral Rounds - Marigold

Card/Paper:-

·         Copper Glitter

·         Copper Mirror

·         Orange/White Card from stash

·         Stencil

·         Card Blank – 7ins x7ins – black

Miscellany:-

·         Rust twine

Instructions:-

1.       Cut ‘Town’ from orange/white card and trim to leave a deep border.

2.       Flip to opposite side and layer onto copper mirror, white Stencil, black, white Stencil and finally onto card blank.

3.       Cut Marigold from copper glitter card and trim out selection of flowers and leaves. Attach to corner of card using Perga Glue.

4.       Add twine bow.

Black and Gold

Materials:-

Dies:-

·         Town

·         Nested Squares

Card/Paper:-

·         Matte Black

·         Gold Mirror

·         Card Blank – 8ins x 8ins

Miscellany:-

·         Black/Gold patterned card from stash

Instructions:-

1.       Cut two rectangles measuring 7ins x 7ins from black and gold card. Cut each into two equal triangles, mat onto black card and trim to leave a narrow border. Attach to front of card blank.

2.       Cut ‘Town’ from gold/black card and trim using 4^th largest Nested Square.

3.       Create frames gold and black using 2^nd and 3^rd largest and 3^rd and 4^th largest Nested Squares. Attach over die-cut image and mat onto black card. Trim to leave a narrow border.

4.       Attach to card front.

‘One Way Town’

Materials:-

·         Archival Black

Dies:-

·         Nested Rectangles

Card/Paper:-

·         Kraft

·         Matte Black

·         Card Blank

Instructions:-

1.       Stamp 2^nd image onto lighter side of Kraft card. Layer onto black card.

2.       Cut two equal corners to fit from two rectangular Kraft card frames (using 3^rd largest Nested Rectangle.

3.       Layer onto Kraft, black, Kraft and black.

4.       Add gems.

Tree Town

·         Artistry – Hay Stack, Aqua Fusion, Midnight Blue, Aged Stucco

Card/Paper:-

·         Stencil

·         Gel Press

Instructions:-

1.       Coat Tree Box stencil with Archival Black and emboss using a die-cutting machine. (Around five prints may be pulled from one coating of ink. This is the second print as it is slightly lighter.)

2.       Apply Hay Stack, Aqua Fusion and Aged Stucco over Gel Press; lightly brayer. Pull a print.

3.       Cover central box of Tree Box image with stencil ‘innie.’ Coat ‘Town’ stencil with Hay Stack, Aqua Fusion and Aged Stucco and dab together with a wet wipe. Place over Gel Press and pull print.

4.       Stamp middle Three Way stamp in centre of print.

5.       Ink third stamp randomly with Hay Stack and stamp over image. Repeat with Midnight Blue; then with Aged Stucco; lastly with Rusticana.

6.       Trim then layer onto Designer Paper, rust scrap, white stencil card edged with orange marker followed by card blank.

·         Micron Pen

Instructions:-

1.       Blend/brush over Hay Stack followed by Aqua Fusion (very lightly) through ‘Town’ stencil over Stencil card. Remove stencil.

2.       Mask chosen square with sticky notes and stamp areas of choice of 2^nd overlay. (I put pressure on either top or bottom of stamp depending where I wanted the distressed area to be.

3.       Replace stencil and outline stamped squares with black Micron pen.

4.       Edge with black marker and layer on to Designer Paper which has also been edged with black marker.

5.       Add to decorated card blank.

Abstract Street

Materials:-

Card/Paper:-

·         Theuva

Ink Pads:-

·         Archival Black

Artistry:-

·         Hay Stack

·         Fall Fiesta

·         Wild Bilberry

·         Fancy Fuchsia

·         Aged Stucco

·         Moon Crater

Instructions:-

1.       Mask top and foot of card.

2.       Stamp 2^nd overlay repeatedly along card.

3.       Leaving masking tape in place, ink randomly 3^rd overlay with Hay Stack (blotting some ink with wet wipe) and over-stamp all three images. Repeat with other listed inks, leaving Fancy Fuchsia till last.

4.       Remove masking tape, stamp chosen sentiment and bird.

5.       Outline top and bottom of stamped area with Micron pen.

6.       Edge with black marker and attach to card blank. (To make this card blank, I trimmed down a folded sheet of A3.)

Sunny Side of the Street

·         Hay Stack, Aqua Fusion, Moon Crater, Midnight Blue, Cranberry Crush

Card/Paper:-

·         Stencil

Miscellany:-

·         Gel Press

Instructions:-

1.       Dab Hay Stack along top of Gel Press, Aged Stucco across centre and Aqua Fusion along foot. Carefully brayer to merge all three colours.

2.       Lay over Town stencil, place stencil card over and gently smooth to transfer ink.

3.       Remove card and when dry, edge with black marker.

4.       Mat onto toning Designer Paper edge this with marker and attach to card blank.

5.       Stamp 2nd overlay onto stencil card and trim to leave a narrow white border. Edge with black marker.

6.       Apply Hay Stack randomly over 3^rd overlay and over-stamp black outline. Repeat with Midnight Blue followed by Cranberry Crush.

7.       Trim and attach over card front.

‘Town though a Lens’

·         Colouring Pencils

Instructions:-

1.       Using third stencil print from Example 10 mask all edges of the central box. Stamp 1^st overlay inside the masked box.

2.       Colour areas of stamped image. Trim.

3.       Stamp 1^st and 2^nd generation leaves from ‘Fly Away’ set on card front and inside using Dry Weed.

4.       Cut central aperture from card blank front using suited Nested Circle.

5.       Cut frame from holographic card to fit using Nested Circles and attach over aperture.

6.       Attach stamped image inside card.
